Contrary to what many people think, the word “Baptist” is not a word that defines a denomination. There are some who have taken the name Baptist and added it to their chosen denomination name, such as Southern Baptist, Northern Baptist, General Baptist, etc. However, as you can see by the word Independent up above, we are not involved in a denomination, so we want people to clearly understand what a true Baptist is.
